Price is what generates revenue.
Is price comparison important to you?

A price comparison is very important for companies! I recently did one for a company who shall remain nameless and they were doing okay in sales, but there was room for improvement so they came to us and asked us to see what they could do better.

I had a look at different avenues and looked at what they were charging for there product, which really is what determines if someone buys a product or not, price is very important in determining this as people like value for there money.

I compared what they were charging and what there main competitors and a few other foreign companies were charging to get a feel for what people pay in different areas etc,

I found that our client which was Irish based and selling to the UK Market was selling well over what any of their competitors were charging so price in this case could have been the end of them.

I let them know of this and they are back competing with the big boys of their sector. Irish companies can sometimes charge more than their over seas competitors as they price in accordance with what people pay in Ireland in this company’s case they had to be competitive as there is more competition in the overseas market.

Based on my experience here is what I have found out: which could be useful for you.

  • Look at the prices of your competitors
  • Look at your own prices
  • Price them in accordance with your market and what your competitors are charging.
  • Review and lower in case you are not been competitive

Online Social Media Strategy

Through this article, written by our intern Javier Fenoy Mena, we are going to briefly explain how to create and implement a social media marketing plan for 3R Sales & Marketing. The principal goal is to attract more traffic for our website (prospect customers) and turn that traffic into real clients.

 We are going to use the most important social networks in the World Wide Web, like Facebook, Twitter, Digg, Del.icio.us, Stumbleupon, Reddit and Google Bookmarks.

In order to do that, we are going to use the 3R Sales & Marketing’s blog section. We are going to use the current categories, but we are going to create a new one as well, where we can post curious or funny stuff related with marketing, sales, advertisement… For that, we are going to use videos (from YouTube for example) and pictures to catch the attention of the readers, make them vote for our content, and get more visits. This new category in the blog section could be called curiosities, off-topic…

Then we will go with our posts to the main social media networks and post them there, in order to obtain traffic for our website. A big part of that traffic will be only useful to Google and will make our www.3r.ie better in terms of search engine optimization (because we are creating traffic and links), and another part of the traffic will be prospect customers, whose can give us conversions and become into real customers!

The fist step is creating post for our blog, so then we can go with them to the action!

How to write an attractive post?

In order to create a very successful blog, we need to choose an attractive content. A professional blog talking about some specific topics will only draw the attention of specialist in that topic, or people that actually understand what are we trying to tell.

However, if we write about something a little bit more generic, with a natural and comprehensive language (of course, without leaving the field of marketing), we can generate more traffic. Moreover, using graphics, images or videos really help our readers to understand everything, make it easier and more attractive.

So in our case we might write about curiosities on marketing (advertisement, new products, concepts…). We can get some ideas from newspapers, TV advertisements, radio or, of course, the internet. We have to look for curiosity, humour, and aggressive or provocative content.

It is also very important the title of the post. We really need to draw the attention of the potential readers: the most people read our post, the most chances of positive votes we will get, and that can turn into prospect clients, conversions and customers. So for the title of each one of our posts, we need to choose a creative, aggressive, provocative or funny title…

What should we write about?

This is a very important point. What to write about? Actually, we can write about anything. We only have to write in a marketing point of view.

  • Marketing tips (it is always very attractive)
  • Marketing curiosities
  • Business news,
  • Advertisements,
  • TV,
  • Sport,
  • Politics
  • Own experience with customers

We can get ideas from everywhere! We can also use some of our current posts and try them into the different bookmark media networks to see the impact of them. Just try to shock the readers, and our aim will be accomplished.

Anyway, we have to beard in mind that our company offer a coaching and training service as well, so we have to post some entrances about that as well, being professional and serious, and make ourselves look like the experts we actually are. We have to be careful with the things we post because we shouldn’t change the corporate image of the company.

How often should we write a new post?

We are going to post all the entrances of our blog in several bookmarks social media network, so it is important to refresh the content as much as possible. The problem is that this takes a lot of tome. Anyway, probably 2 posts a moth will be fine.

First of all I would like to thank, Peter Lawless, brilliant business owner of 3R Sales and Marketing, for giving me the opportunity to work and learn in his company during this internship.

Then I would like to express my gratitude to Simona Rusnakova who is one of the most innovative marketing executive that I have ever seen, she has the capacity to make complex things easy to understand!.

Well I have to say that I have exceeded my objectives since my internship has enriched my intellectual and social qualities. I was skeptical at first about E-marketing and SEO stuff, but it has truly been an amazing experience. Now I know all tricks and tips about how to improve website visibility as well as the importance of E-marketing for small and medium businesses. In fact this internal optimization concerns the website itself, since it consists of modifying the structure such as design, content, organization of web pages, linking web pages together etc. However you may think that design and content are the most important internal factors of SEO, you are not completly right therefore to help you improve your website, you have to follow the next steps:

• Selection of keywords
Before even building a website, a keyword research has to be carried out to select the most relevant ones. A Keyword research would reveal what keywords visitors are actually using for their queries. That is the reason why a selection of most frequently searched website is crucial for web traffic.

• Minimum words per page

So the more content a web page has, the greater are the chances to be high ranked. However a page with few words would hardly get ranked in first results page since search engines love content.
In an usability standpoint, a page with few words would not contain a large amount of information, that is another reason why webmasters have to renounce to use pages with very little content. That mistake can make visitors go away to find more information in competitors sites.

• CSS layout

Page title is the first thing that search engines pay attention to, so it is the most important factor to care for a good page optimization. For example if the title sums up the content of the page then search engines will be able to find out what the page is about.
Besides a keyword-rich page title will help visitor to orientate themselves within the website.

• Headings and sub-headings
As heading sums up the contain of one page, Search engines consider that the text contained in heading tags has a predominant importance. Also it is important to have sub-headings since search engines find them more important than the rest of the body text. Search engines attach the most importance to heading, then sub-headings, and so on.
In another hand, headings are also important for visitors, because they considerably help them to find quicker the information looking for. Indeed visitors spent few times in websites, they do not have time to read the whole page, they just scan keywords as a search engines do. So by breaking down web pages into headings and sub-heading it will make the navigation easier.

• Opening paragraph
On a paragraph, the first 20 words are the most important because search engines assign the most importance to them rather than the whole paragraph. Therefore, it is necessary to have an opening paragraph that describes the rest of the body text in the web page. Least but not last, relevant keywords have to be included in this opening paragraph.
In a visitor point of view, this opening paragraph is more than useful because by reading it they will know whether it is the correct information they want. It would avoid them to waste time and that is a great point.

Descriptive link text
Given the fact that link text is descriptive of its destination, search engines attach much more importance on link text. For instance, If all the links pointing to a page about gadget say ‘click here’, then search engines would not be able to find out what the page is about without visiting it. However if all the links say, ‘gadget’ then it would be easier for search engines to guess what would be the contain of this page.

• No frames
Frames are not used anymore because it appears as quite a old-school technique as well the worst way to optimize web pages. Indeed, because of the frames, search engines cannot follow links that are in between, consequently it generates a low search engine ranking.

Quality content provided
At first, this requirement seems obvious and not that important however it is a vital factor too for internal SEO. In addition to looking at page content, search engines pay attention to text links that are pointing in to web pages. If a website has a lot of inbound links, its search rankings have more chances to be high.
